Save the date: The F.A.T. Bazaar is here!

So for all those who have been in the midst of incessant festivities, and haven't had a minute to swoop into some habitual shopping and fun, here's some good news. The creative minds behind the F.A.T. Bazaar (short for the Finders And Takers Bazaar) are going to create a hoopla with all that they have to offer.

For those who are wondering, the F.A.T. Bazaar was started with an aim to bring together young artists and designers whose work was not commercially available in stores or malls. With the aim of bringing avante-garde products to the customer's eye, they froze on the idea of taking these designers to all day dining restaurants over a long weekend to display their products.

With as ingenious a concept as this, the F.A.T Bazaar has always added more depth to their bazaars through additional attractions; in the form of stand-up comedy gigs, tea tasting rituals and so on. All in all, it's fun, food and entertainment all under one roof.

A a colorful mix of designers will be putting up their creations for sale.

Among these brands is E.Z.R.A., a Mumbai based brand that recreates contemporary fashion with their concepts and design. Visit them here.

Lively Wood is another brand that strives to be unconventional and brings altogether a world of immaculate design.

Another such unconventionally creative brand, Udd, creates beautiful fabrics. Udd is one of the participating designers, who work to encourage folk-tribal art, which is then transformed into beautiful fabrics. Visit them here.

Various other brands such as Bechain Nagri, Funk for Hire and the very popular Bliss among many other amazing eye-popping brands will be participating together at the F.A.T. Bazaar.

For this bazaar, they will display an eclectic mix of designers from Mumbai, Pune and Goa. Also with this bazaar, they are giving back to society in the form of a collaboration with Teach For India. They are helping them raise funds for their project School of Little Designers, which aims to bring design and art into the classroom and inspire young minds.

Venue : Malaka Spice, Koregaon Park, Pune
October 5th, 6th and 7th
Open from : 11.30 a.m. to 11.30 p.m.

The F.A.T. Bazaar was started by a young entrepreneur Mamta Gala. Her own interest in finding art and taking it motivated her to create a medium that would help others to find art made by young entrepreneurs.

To know more about the F.A.T Bazaar and the designers that will make it a firework, visit their Facebook page here

So will I see you there? :)

Maybelline The Falsies Mascara review

It's been quite a long blog pause with so much happening around me.

Anyhow, while I was on a holiday recently, I picked up the much raved about Maybelline The Falsies Volum' Express mascara. For those who don't know, the Falsies has been released in India just recently. And it's creating quite a buzz! Wouldn't you want to pick this cutie up?

It has the characteristic Maybelline mascara casing but in fuchsia; cute yet bold. :) Let's see what's the verdict?

What Maybelline claims:
"-- The Pro-Keratin & Fibre enriched waterproof formula attaches to lashes you didn't know you had and creates a false lash look of thicker and longer looking lashes.
-- Our patented Spoon Brush fans out lashes and ensures generous product deposit. Our unique flexible stem helps building volume without clumping.
-- RESULT: FALSE LASH VOLUME. FULL SET OF VOLUMINOUS LASHES - CORNER TO CORNER. NO CLUMPS."

I'll be short and sweet with this; my lashes are loving it. Considering that I inherited the most sparse, most insanely sparse lashes ever, this mascara has proved to be a boon.

The Spoon Brush - side and bottom

Loving those lashes *flutter flutter*

What I love:
-- With its one of a kind Spoon brush, applying the product to the corners of the eyes indeed becomes easier.
-- Known to give a glamorous flash lash look, it does give a noticeable density to the lashes. That I neeed!
-- LASTS! Just like the Colossal mascara, this one lives up to the 'long-lasting' expectations.

What I did not like:
-- Can cause clumps if applied carelessly. And that is something I was REALLY disappointed with!
-- The waterproof one is difficult to take off, unless you use a makeup remover. (Although I'm not really complaining ;))

Price: INR 425/- in India

Overall, i'm loving the Falsies; it indeed lives up to the hype. (although i wish they could do something about the clumping part). So would you buy this wonder mascara?

Grande Roue

Recently, i visited this inconspicuous little fair held in a region of Pune; the venue rather surprised me. Anyhow, curious, i decided "let's!"

Little stalls were dancing with emerging lights, green, red and yellow. Stall vendors had something special to offer, little knick-knacks from whatever lands they came from.

Those glass bead earrings were tempting little devils. They costed only a mere 15 inr. Yes, pretty things indeed come in small packages.

The stall vendors were more than excited to let me go clickety-click at their stalls. Sweet! No? :)

Bought this lime green-blood red necklace at one of the stalls. I did not have even the slightest idea that it would cost me a donut. @ 60 inr.

As if the ride didn't look scary enough, the Ferris wheel had no safety locks! Now that's what we call an adventure ride.

My camera wasn't too happy with the fair and refused to cooperate. So the next picture i could click was after i got back to repair my moody camera.
Here, Mr. Pigeon, relishing the rain.

Trend Obsessions : Top 5

So I got my favorite 5 trends compiled for you guys. In random order of course. There's no way I could rank them. What's your take?

Trend obsession #1 : Geometric

Geometric accessories and prints have been popular since quite some time now, and are one of the biggest trends this fashion season. Incorporate this trend through accessories and jewelry or play bold with geometric print and cut-out detail. This trend works beautifully even for formal wear, so put it to full use while it's there for you to relish.

Geometric necklace, ring : Blur

Trend obsession #2 : Neon

Almost everything that's neon is going to make you outfit shoot "watch me!". In a good way of course. If you're not in the bold mood, create the neon vibe through hints of neon. Use flashy nail colors, statement rings with splashes of neon, or get bolder with a neon skirt or pumps. Whatever you do, do NOT over do the trend. Wear neon with subdued tones or neutral colors like tan and gray to balance your outfit and pop those colors.

Neon statement necklace : Blur

Trend obsession #3 : Studs

Studs are the number one way to perk up your outfit. This is the way to go, if your personal style is more chic than girly. Pair studs with pearls to soften your look. Recently spotted some beautiful studded shirts at Zara too, so that's where you could hunt them down.

Studded clutch, bangles : Assorted, hand painted

Trend obsession #4 : Snakeskin print

Snakeskin print, personally speaking, is one of my favorite trends. Available at affordable prices (see asos.com) and in a riot of colors, pick what suits you and your outfits best. Styled classy or casual, you can have it your way with these beauties. At least I do!

Purple-pink clutch : Splash
Green-Blue envelope clutch : Asos

Trend obsession #5 : Animal / Galaxy prints

If there was anything creating massive obsession for me, it's got to be galaxy prints and bird prints. Mix these prints together with florals, polka dots, even maybe with each other. Paired with neon or studs, these are double on the hotness meter. Romwe and 8teen Style Boulevard have an splendid collection in galaxy prints and bird prints.

Swallow print blouses : Splash
Galaxy print top : Chemistry

Notoriously heeled.

For this post, I moved to a rather strong look. Almost androgynous, with the broad-shouldered pussy-bow shirt. The rest of the outfit wanted to balance itself, and therefore remained feminine.

** Blooper timee! **

Outfit : Splash, French Connection
Clutch : Splash
Rings : Forever21
Heels : Zara
Earrings (not visible) : Accessorize

We all know this one someone to whom we'd want to say "For the love of God, let's not discuss fashion."

No. Just don't.

It's so annoying piteous to see someone flaunt their bland sense of style, while you meekly try to convince them about a color blocked or asymmetric dress they disliked, and therefore fail without even trying. Oh come on. The very thought of not being able to share the feeling for a beautiful sequined dress or a neon blazer is SO painfully disturbing.

Doesn't everyone know this one amusing, fashionable person who isn't really one? Haha. ;)

Hey! YES, sometimes I do have little things like these to rant about!

And I'm currently finding the electric blue Zara pair dangerously addictive.

Feline instincts

I was wanting to do a fun, perky outfit for a while and thought leopard prints would make a great choice. I realized that leopard prints are one of the most versatile choices one could ever go for. Pair them with hot pink, electric blue, dull grey or even black or white. Even stripes. They're just not going to let you down. I love pairing red and gold together, and with pops of cobalt blue now and then, it just had to be perfect fun.

Oh yes, these adorable, happy, quacking ducks had to be a part of the pictures. How merrily do they enjoy the waters? Talk about leisure time.

This one's almost a blooper. But hey, don't we all have those moments? Also, the sun decided to play hide and seek. Too bad we decided to shoot.

Yes kitty, you match our little theme.

A lot of color-blocking this time do we see?

Shirt (buttons DIYed) : Wonderland, Pune
Leggings : All That Glam
Heels : Zara
Bag : AND
Rings : Splash, Krucarnations
Necklace : Accessorize

Oh and also, I'm getting a huge top-to-bottom makeover for my organizers. Cannot wait to share the pictures! ^_^

What's everyone up to over the weekend?
