Favorites Featured: Just Jewellery

Those who follow the blog closely, know how I work my outfits around statement necklaces and gourmet rings. This obsession with accessorizing just got a lot bigger when I came across Just Jewellery, the brand behind some of the most ethereal jewellery and accessories. Their creations bring a whirlwind of a never-ending romance with jewellery.

Conceptualized by Sandhya Shah and Jasmine Shah, the brand works to bring together art, beauty, and exemplary design through everything they create. Infusing art into semi-precious stones and plated jadtar (Just Jewellery being the only brand in India to use black jadtar in their creations), and even customizing jewellery, are a few characteristics unique to Just Jewellery.

Just Jewellery is available in various cities across India and are also available internationally. To know more about the brand, and see more of their collection and to purchase, visit them here

P.S. All pictures in this post belong to Just Jewellery and I claim no ownership to any of them

Party Essentials: Are you ready yet?

So that sparkling perfect dress is sitting pretty in your wardrobe, and those party pumps are waiting to bring the world to a halt. All set. And, if

One, you're one of those girls who love makeup that's actually seen. (readparty makeup)
Two, when they do it, they rock it even after they're all tipsy.
Three, and they need that dream kit to replenish their vanity without shelling out a bomb.

Here's the deal.

BUT!!!

For the lack of decent shooting equipment, umm no, Youtube's annoying policy actually, that doesn't let you watch high-res videos NO MATTER WHAT, I request you to please PLEASE view this at least at 480p to avoid clarity/resolution horrors that Youtube doesn't let us avoid. *grumpy face*

Taken off the ugly Youtube version from here - found a better alternative on Vimeo!

You can still view this video on Youtube here.
P.S. do not forget the 480p limit. :)

(1) NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in Amsterdam: I prefer this any day over the sticky, waxy Xtreme Lip Creams by NYX; while all their colors are super long lasting, non sticky and super light, Amsterdam turns out to be my favorite color. Addis Ababa follows close next. Actually I can't decide.

(2) NYX Eyeshadows

Volcano: Give more depth to your eyes with this dark brown, neutral eye-shadow, preferably applied to the outer corner of the eye. (Why does this always remind me of cad b??? WHY WHY WHY?)

Peach Bronze: While I don't see anything peach about this shade, there is a whole lot of shiny gold in there! No ugly, chunky glitter, just smooth, delicious eye-candy. On the crease / inner corner of the eye, paired with (2) above (and maybe an eyeliner if you want to go bolder), for an instant party eye look; subdued, yet glamorous.

(3)  E.L.F. Bronzer + Highlighter: While the highlighter gives you disco cheeks (in the good sense of course), the bronzer is something you should NOT miss! Vital this party season, if you want those to-die-for cheekbones.

(4) Bourjois Blush in Ambre D' Or: Top off with this crazy cute blush from Bourjois. The perfect cheek shimmer/color, that also smells as delicious as it looks!

(5) Revlon nail lacquer in Pretty in PapayaAnd finally this is another cutie that makes you want to smell your nails whenever you bring them close to your face. No really! This gives off a delicious, fruity smell after application that makes me crave cheesecake. I might just prefer gold nail lacquer, but this color looks (and smells) so pretty, it's just unfair to let it go. :(

What are your vanity essentials this party season?

Pleats of happiness

Shirt: Freecultr.com
Skirt: Spring Break
Shoes: Zara
Bag: Online
Rings: Accessorize, Forever21
Necklace: XOXO Accessories
On my lips: Orange Flambe, Chambor

Today has gifted me with a rather momentous evening; I learnt, felt and perceived that no matter what ugly things friendship goes through, in the end, you always reconcile; if you don't, it's not the end. It's no wonder that Christmas indeed brings everything happy and Christmassy. Now all i want for Christmas is a cat. Oh, and maybe a dress to go with it.

Moving on to WIW (what i wore), while I have so many things to pair with this particular skirt, I knew it was going to be this nonchalant blue shirt, when I picked up this necklace. I'm funny sometimes, no? BUT!! No matter how much you focus on the outfit, it's often the accessorizing that gives a whole new manifestation to what you wear. Imagine this outfit with the necklace and without it?

P.S. everyone is aware of how the Delhi rape case has shook the entire nation. It would be a small yet significant move if you could sign a petition for capital punishment for the rapists (by going here), started by Malavika Mohanan of Pinkstruck fame.

Priceless possessions

While you may have a wardrobe overflowing with everything that has caught your eye and obsession, there are other things that just cannot be superseded by anything else. Mom's old sunglasses, or childhood stationery given a face-lift - there's something about those old, infinitesimal possessions that is priceless; irreplaceable.

These shades, stolen from mom (she no longer uses them); they're over 25 years old, still intact, and now they're mine.

An old pencil case I discovered while tidying up my room. Now using to store my frequently used eye pencils, lip pencils and brushes. Effortless.

An old, empty notebook from childhood. Because sometimes you never want to use things you find beautiful, for the fear of messing them up.

Old crockery. I'm not even sure how old this is, and i have just two of these. On a secret mission of finding the rest; these i need for my (new) jewelry cabinet.

"Surmedani". Gift from a friend, bought from Delhi. One can get these anywhere, but nothing matches a souvenir that speaks of its origin.

Bonus. Chambor Powder Matte in Orange Falmbe. My favorite orange lipstick, overdone, overused. Perfect for the Indian skin. Nothing matches the sublimity of the rich matte orange.

My favorite part of the year is finally here. Will be making the most of this fall-winter - chilly mornings, delicious sun, ice cold breeze; there is so much to savor!

The F.A.T. Bazaar: Exclusive blog coverage!

Recently a couple of days back, I visited Malaka Spice, one of Pune's most loved restaurants  tucked away in the quiet and ethereal surroundings of Koregaon Park. This particular visit was with a purpose; I was excited to visit the F.A.T. Bazaar held recently, by the lovely Mamta Gala. It hosted a phenomenal array of independent designers, which, to say the least, blew my mind. Let's speak with a few pictures :)

P.S. I visited the bazaar by the time it was sunset, so it's legit if you disliked the pictures. :(

Handcrafted bags by Lisa Pingale in a riot of colors. Loving the vibrant totes. Very Indianized, very inspiring.

Found a truckload of cute and quirky whatnots at some of the stores. I couldn't visit all, but I managed to click all that caught my eye! From scarves, coin purses, key rings and colored blazers, to clutches with large and bold prints and over-sized bags, everything looked so tempting, I couldn't have possibly focused on the food!

This beautiful 'dupatta' was one of the exquisite creations by Udd. They have a deluge of beautiful Sarees, skirts and other clothing in tribal inspired print.

This particular Pune-based designer Falguni Gokhale was probably my most favorite. I was smitten by her creativity. With no specific brand name, Falguni handcrafts everything purely out of hobby and love for art. If you follow my posts regularly, you would know that Malaka Spice also loves promoting art in the every form, apart from filling you with everything palatable.

Here, a beautiful trinket box, and statement jewelry that she designs on her own. Masterpieces? Yes.

Kiwi accessories were loaded with the prettiest bangles and arm candies! They had a great selection of handmade stationery for all quirk-lovers.

Shraddha  Karamchandani's Drop Dead Gorgeous was one fashionable stall! Loved the statement jewelry, bags and accessories on display.

Lively Wood and Bhoole Bisre really swept me with their quirky and out-of-the-world collectibles and home decor items. Eyeing something?

Bechain Nagri is this amazing brand with the cutest notebooks ever. It is beyond me how they come up with so much humor just through their notebooks.

Designerds had their stall loaded with bags in all shapes and sizes. While some had a vintage feel, others were contemporary and quirky. Loved their collection and I'm definitely picking some things up from them!

Did you visit the bazaar?

What's in my tote?

This fall is inspiring me to wear all of my favorite colors. Burgundy, deep red, grey and olive green. And whatever arm candy I carry with me, the following are the things I carry. Also, this is considering i have a sufficiently large tote and not a simple sling purse; I happen to carry the whole world in my tote. (And try to fit in a few continents when I'm carrying a sling. Bad joke.)

I keep changing my wallets / clutches very often, but this particular one i cannot just let go of. A sanitizer is another essential something I need to carry every time i go out. My purple contact lens case is another necessity I carry, in case i feel the need to take off my lenses. I've always felt that a statement ring can spruce up an understated outfit. Every time I go out, I keep a versatile ring handy, just in case.

Wallet / Clutch : Splash
Contact lens case : Claire's
Ring : Forever21

While a good set of shades are always indispensable, carrying a travel perfume always helps you feel fresh. This Dior is one of my favorites. Coin purses are knick-knacks I add to my bag, depending on my mood. Oh yes I'm crazy that way.

Shades : Aldo
Coin purse : Accessorize
Travel perfume : Dior

If shades are a necessity in Indian weather, so is my compact mirror. I often carry my 'currently-wearing' nail lacquer when i know the polish might chip off. I also carry two shades of lipsticks, a dark one and another natural colored; these serve the touch-ups in the day or in the evening. This particular moisturizing balm serves as a wonderfully soothing balm for my lips as well as my hands. Those iridescent rainbow colored bands are my absolute favorite!! They've got 'Made-for-fall' all printed over them. I'm so worried about losing them, it's not even funny.

Compact mirror: UK
Nail Lacquer: Maybelline
Lip colors: NYX lip cream in Antwerp, Colorbar lipstick in a red shade
Iridescent bands: Esta Accessories
Notebook: Bechain Nagri

And then comes the dual purpose card holder / coin purse, I just cannot get over the croc print. Bought from Hong Kong Lane, FC road, Pune for a mere 80 INR. Colorful pens and pen drives, they are all there somewhere tucked in safely.

One of my favorite pens. It's not a fancy brand, no, but it cost a good 400 INR something. Of course I had to buy it anyway.

What are you carrying in your tote this season? :)
