Maybelline The Falsies Mascara review

It's been quite a long blog pause with so much happening around me.

Anyhow, while I was on a holiday recently, I picked up the much raved about Maybelline The Falsies Volum' Express mascara. For those who don't know, the Falsies has been released in India just recently. And it's creating quite a buzz! Wouldn't you want to pick this cutie up?

It has the characteristic Maybelline mascara casing but in fuchsia; cute yet bold. :) Let's see what's the verdict?

What Maybelline claims:
"-- The Pro-Keratin & Fibre enriched waterproof formula attaches to lashes you didn't know you had and creates a false lash look of thicker and longer looking lashes.
-- Our patented Spoon Brush fans out lashes and ensures generous product deposit. Our unique flexible stem helps building volume without clumping.
-- RESULT: FALSE LASH VOLUME. FULL SET OF VOLUMINOUS LASHES - CORNER TO CORNER. NO CLUMPS."

I'll be short and sweet with this; my lashes are loving it. Considering that I inherited the most sparse, most insanely sparse lashes ever, this mascara has proved to be a boon.

The Spoon Brush - side and bottom

Loving those lashes *flutter flutter*

What I love:
-- With its one of a kind Spoon brush, applying the product to the corners of the eyes indeed becomes easier.
-- Known to give a glamorous flash lash look, it does give a noticeable density to the lashes. That I neeed!
-- LASTS! Just like the Colossal mascara, this one lives up to the 'long-lasting' expectations.

What I did not like:
-- Can cause clumps if applied carelessly. And that is something I was REALLY disappointed with!
-- The waterproof one is difficult to take off, unless you use a makeup remover. (Although I'm not really complaining ;))

Price: INR 425/- in India

Overall, i'm loving the Falsies; it indeed lives up to the hype. (although i wish they could do something about the clumping part). So would you buy this wonder mascara?

Mermaid blue eyes

The following quick post was shot in 10 minutes which is why the eyes aren't as perfect as they could have been. I've been busier than I thought I'd be, after exams are over with. And it's another thing that it took me over an hour to get the pictures ready.

What disappointed me was that the pictures couldn't capture the turquoise shadow. *rant rant rant*

For this look I used,

Deborah Milano's eye-shadow quads
Maybelline's gel eyeliner
Maybelline's Colossal Volum' Express mascara

Using a primer helps greatly with the color payoff and staying power.

i)   After primer, I started from the corner of the eye with the white highlighter and spread it all over the lid.
ii)  Then used the bright blue eye-shadow at the center of the lid, blending thoroughly.
iii) Finally i finished with the jet black eye-shadow, blending and defining the outline of the eye.

Using eye-shadow brushes are a must, especially when it comes to blending. I till date have not understood the use of the applicators the eye-shadow guys provide.

Funnily or not, I find this method easier than the usual procedure, which makes my eye look overdone. But hey, in the end, I can do my eyes well enough in 10 minutes, isn't that fun? ;)

NOTD: Chevron Splash

Winter's long gone and we're treading in the middle of summer. In spite of grueling heat and unnecessary tanning, we still have beautiful bright colors to our rescue. What's better than brewing a mix of colors through chevron nails?

For this NOTD post, i used:
1) Rose by Tips & Toes, a gorgeous summery pink.
2) Poppies by Tips & Toes, a beautiful bright orange.
3) Shade A11 by Marie Claire, a dull toned-down purple. (the color doesn't show in the pictures so well)

I started out with a pink base. Make sure it's completely dry before you move to the next step. I waited a long 25 minutes (yes). Anything i tried to do before the 25 minute period, and there starts the destruction... And hence this was my second attempt at the same NOTD post.

Wishlists are meant to never end.

It's pretty annoying (actually, not really) that things keep getting added to my wishlist as the older additions get fulfilled. Of course, most girls will relate to the feeling. There's a plethora of things - clothing, shoes, cosmetics, jewelry, shoes, shoes... and then there's no end.

I'd like to share my wishlist a part of my wishlist in this post.

I, with tremendous difficulty, selected just four arm-candies from my ASOS wishlist. They range from 28 to 65 USD. Moreover, free shipping make me a sucker for ASOS. My current favorite is the mint green envelope clutch. And also the River Island Binoculars Case in Beige-Pink. What a lovely combinationI died 35 times after I saw this new stock of jaw-dropping arm babies.

NOTD: Universe on Fire.

I'm not much of a nail art person, and i tend to stick to basic, universal colors most of the time. But there are times when we all love a little change. :) And however it may seem, Universe on Fire doesn't look as gorgeous in pictures, as it does in reality.

For this NOTD post, i used:

1) Miss Claire A16 nail varnish. (has blue-green undertones with extremely fine super shiny sparkles). I know. LOVE.
2) Maybelline Colorama Intenso PAIXAO.
3) VOV glitter nail varnish (with chunky holographic glitter).
